Stunning views of Woody Bay, an outdoor swimming pool and 26 acres of lawned gardens make Martinhoe Manor a special place to stay. The Lodge is a detached cedar wood bungalow which is located in the grounds of the manor with direct views over the sea from its private balcony (not suitable for young children). Sleeping two people and one or two small dogs, The Lodge has an open-plan living area with comfortable seats surrounding an electric coal-effect stove, patio doors opening out onto the balcony and a modern kitchen with an electric built-in cooker and a microwave. There are coin operated washing machines and tumble dryers in a communal laundry room, along with ironing facilities and a shared freezer. The spacious bedroom has a double bed and a small dressing room with a washbasin and space for a cot. The bathroom has a shower over the bath. There is a communal games room with a pool table for guests to share. Outside, the view from the gardens down to the bay is breath-taking. The 26-acres of landscaped lawns, mature boarders and winding pathways are a delight to explore. The manor house faces east so catches the morning sun on the front terrace and the evening sun sets over the sea are outstanding. A steep path from the manor house leads through the gardens and down to the sand and shingle Woody Bay. Amazing walks wind through Exmoor National Park and over National Trust headlands and the South West Coast Path passes close by. A particularly beautiful one follows the coast to Valley of Rocks and onto Lynton and Lynmouth

The Lodge was very nice and the wildlife which we loved kept us entertained, so quiet and peaceful we loved it. Ideal for people wanting an escape from the mad world we live in...The sound of nothing but the sea was brilliant.

mrs D P,

Great value for money, absolutely spectacular views and the natural features of the area were amazing. Didn't get to meet the owners but met the caretaker Dave who was a wonderful chap who was very polite & helpful. Drove 6 hours to get to there to be told by Dave that he's from 20 minutes away from where I live. Would recommend for those who wish for a bit of piece & quiet away from city life

Mr C L,
