Keepers Cottage is the ultimate holiday cottage in the perfect dreamy setting which will make you feel like you are living in the pages of an epic romantic novel. It sits almost on its own in a partly wooded valley with the heathers of Exmoor contrasting with the lush greenery of the trees alongside the dancing waters of the river in the heart of the National Park. The cottage is detached and set a short distance from the owners' own home and next to riverside meadows and woodland. It has been converted from an old barn with drama and fun creating an inspiring and stylish home. In such a delicious setting it would have been hard to go wrong, but the conversion marries well with the breathtaking setting.
The lounge/diner has a cosy feel with a wood burning stove and the most has been made of original timbers to keep a historic backbone to the building. Patio doors lead out to the private enclosed patio and lawn by the river, a perfect setting for relaxation or al fresco dining. Chunky timber lintels cover the opening through to the kitchen with a stunning internal coloured glass arched window between the kitchen and stairs ensuring the full maximum use of natural light. The kitchen has beech work surfaces complemented by a Belfast sink. Upstairs there is an attractive and roomy bedroom with creative use of all possible nooks and crannies to create a unique room rich in charm and character. A classy en-suite bathroom enjoys fabulous views over the river and valley.
You are spoilt for choice with outdoor activities including countless walks, pony riding (two and a half miles away) or fishing on the half mile stretch of river right on your doorstep(Environmental license required). Brendon village just under a mile away has a popular inn and nearby Oare has tearooms and a gift shop. The popular twin towns of Lynton and Lynmouth on the coastal edge of Exmoor are four miles away. Exmoor National Park surrounds Keepers Cottage and has the tallest tree in England and the highest cliffs

We had an amazing holiday. The location was fabulous and the property beautiful. Lovely hosts who were the if you needed them but otherwise kept out of the way.
Hosts were lovely, we really enjoyed our stay - Thank You
Beautiful cottage in a stunning location. Fantastic walking from the front door to amazing viewpoints. Cottage was immaculately presented, really cosy and warm, with or without the woodburner. Birdwatchers be sure to take feed with you and you will be well rewarded. A wonderful stay and will definitely look to returning.
Excellent property property was everything we hoped it would be. We will return again.
Alison and james were amazing host, they went above and beyond to help us when our car broke, perfect cottage, perfect location, the best cottage weve stayed in xx
A lovely place to stay beside the river. Great walks. Ideal for dogs.
fantastic location and owners very helpful
A beautiful property in an idyllic location. Very comfortable with everything you need for a fantastic stay.
We really loved this cottage and would definitely go back there. It was extremely attractive, cosy and comfortable and we loved the huge bed and the log burner. The location is beautiful too - we arrived in the dark and were really excited the next morning to see the river running past the bottom of the garden! A great place for a get-away-from-it-all holiday!
