Description

Hollerday Cottage looks straight out of an Enid Blyton novel. It sits on the hillside looking down on the gorgeous Exmoor coastal village of Lynton, which is just a few minutes’ walk down the hill. The village has a wide choice of individual shops, tea rooms, restaurants and pubs. This chocolate box detached cottage has a stylish blend of modern and traditional decor and provides the perfect base for a relaxing or fun-filled holiday. The lounge has a flame effect gas fire for instant heat after a day out or a cosy evening in the cooler seasons.  There is a separate dining room which enjoys attractive views over the village and countryside. The galley kitchen is through from the dining room. On the ground floor there is a single bedroom with an adjoining snug/dressing room. Two more bedrooms and a cloakroom are upstairs, while the main family bathroom is on the ground floor. A delightful front terrace enjoys the village and hillside views with a patio area ideal for al fresco dining. A choice of coastal and country walks start at the front gate, with lots of wildlife including wild goats in the Valley of the Rocks, and red deer nearby. The historic funicular cliff railway connects Lynton and its twin village of Lynmouth with its delightful harbour, gardens, shingle and rock beaches. It is a top spot for outdoor activities including walking, fishing, birdwatching or horse riding. Many famous beauty spots are also easily accessible including Heddon Valley, Watersmeet and the Doone Valley. Just on the doorstep is Exmoor National Park, which has Europe’s very first International Dark Sky Reserve, the tallest tree in England, the highest cliffs in England, almost 250 species of bird and over 1,000 different flowering plants and grasses, the highest number of wild red deer in England and free living native Exmoor ponies, perfectly adapted to the upland conditions of Exmoor
