Description
The Snug is a nautical themed apartment all on the same level in the heart of picturesque Lynmouth where the beautiful Exmoor National Park meets the Atlantic Ocean. This comfortable ground floor flat with contemporary decor has its own entrance and has been thoughtfully designed and tastefully furnished in a modern style. There is a fully equipped kitchen/diner and the roomy lounge has two sofas and soft lighting. The attractive bedroom sits alongside the bathroom and the apartment is located in the heart of the village so you can get everything you need on foot.
The pretty village of Lynmouth sits at sea level, following the River Lyn down to the sea, while Lynton is higher in the trees, full of quaint narrow lanes and independent shops to explore. Often known as Little Switzerland, the area is a walkers' paradise. For a unique coastal walk, follow the path from Lynton to the iconic Valley of Rocks, famous for its unusual geology and intrepid goats. Take a trip on the water-powered funicular cliff train to visit Lynton. Head inland to visit Exmoor National Park, which has Europe’s very first International Dark Sky Reserve, the tallest tree in England, the highest cliffs in England, almost 250 species of bird and over 1,000 different flowering plants and grasses, the highest number of wild red deer in England and wild native ponies, perfectly adapted to the upland conditions of Exmoor. A short drive west takes you to Ilfracombe, which has a delightful mix of Victorian and Regency architecture, pretty harbour, independent shops, restaurants, cafes and pubs. The harbour, with Damien Hirst’s infamous bronze statue Verity, and the Tunnels Beaches, are well worth a visit along with the award-winning Ilfracombe Aquarium, fascinating Ilfracombe Museum, Larkstone Leisure Park, Hele Cornmill and Chambercombe Manor - one of Britain's most haunted houses. Keep heading west for Woolacombe, which has three miles of golden sand, voted number one in the UK by TripAdvisor guests for the last two years
