Description

The pretty hamlet of Kentisbury lies just outside Exmoor National Park, and only 10 miles from the beautiful golden beaches of Woolacombe, Croyde and Putsborough. This quaint countryside setting is the perfect central location for a North Devon holiday with many of the region's attractions within easy reach.

Kentisbury Mill is situated within 2 acres of shared landscaped gardens with sweeping lawns, mature trees, ponds and streams and a superb south facing sun terrace for enjoying that well-earned glass of wine after a day exploring this beautiful area or for a barbecue in the summer evenings.  The Mill is homely and attractively furnished. Walk through the entrance porch which leads through to the cosy living /dining room with a sofa, two armchairs in front of the fireplace with an electric coal effect fire, smart TV, DVD.  The dining area provides a wooden table and chairs, lovely views across the garden.  The kitchen is well equipped and leads off to the utility room housing the washing machine and access to a tumble dryer on request.  On the first floor three delightful bedrooms all attractively furnished and en-suite, the first bedroom Swallow offers the flexibility of a zip n link super king bed which can be split into twin beds on request and an en-suite double shower, heated towel rail, WC.  The further two single bedrooms Jay and Magpie again with individual en-suite shower rooms with heated towels rails, WC.   Please note all showers have a step up to them.    

Ground Floor:

Lounge/ Dining area:  Smart TV/DVD, selection of books and games, sofa and easy chairs.

Kitchen: Electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer.

Utility: Washing machine use of tumble dryer by request.

First Floor:

Important Note:  An unfenced stream runs along the garden borders and there are two unfenced ponds (therefore whilst a tranquil habitat for wildlife, with some deep water, Kentisbury Mill will not be suitable for unsupervised young children).

We recently returned from a lovely fortnight's holiday at Kentisbury Mill and just wanted to share some feedback with you. What a super place and the owner Derek went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and well setup. The accommodation was very well maintained, clean & tidy and equipped to a high standard. We know the area well and have spent many happy holidays in North Devon over the years. The location is great being close enough to the busy beach resorts but away from the hustle and bustle that often accompanies them; it's just so quiet. The parkland like garden was a joy to relax in although we agree it may not be suitable for unsupervised young children (this is clearly mentioned in the property listing). The Mill is a new listing so this is Derek's first summer and we wish him every success for the remainder of the season.
