Description
Otters Holt is set in 30 acres of stunning countryside on the fringes of Exmoor National Park with its own lake, making it perfect for those who enjoy fishing. The lake is well stocked and fishing is available all year round. Day permits can be purchased on site along with a wide selection of fishing tackle and bait. Tackle hire is also an option on site. The lake and surrounding meadows are also a haven for wildlife and a top spot for bird watchers with owls, kestrels, buzzards and kingfishers all regular visitors. Red deer have also been spotted near the cottage. Otters Holt has a roomy living room with patio doors opening onto the rear terrace with garden furniture for al fresco dining. The well equipped galley style kitchen makes meals in a good option, while the stylish bedrooms both have twin or King sized beds giving good flexibility on sleeping arrangements. A modern bathroom with corner bath completes the accommodation. Nearby Exmoor National Park has Europe’s very first International Dark Sky Reserve, the tallest tree in England, the highest cliffs in England, almost 250 species of bird and over 1,000 different flowering plants and grasses, the highest number of wild red deer in England and wild native ponies, perfectly adapted to the upland conditions of Exmoor. Head north to Lynmouth and Lynton for a coastal day out. The pretty village of Lynmouth sits at sea level, following the River Lyn down to the sea, while Lynton sits higher in the trees, full of quaint narrow lanes and independent shops to explore. Often known as Little Switzerland, the area is a walkers' paradise. For a unique coastal walk, follow the path from Lynton to the iconic Valley of Rocks, famous for its unusual geology and intrepid goats. Take a trip on the water-powered funicular cliff train to visit Lynton
