Description
This bright and airy cottage, sleeping four people and two dogs, has stunning countryside views from its mature garden. Situated in Bishops Nympton which is near South Molton, Lower Court Cottage dates back more than 200 years and has been beautifully renovated to provide a contemporary and characterful holiday home.
A useful hallway with a comfy settle-type bench provides a welcome entrance to the cottage – and somewhere to store your boots and shoes. This leads into the open-plan lounge/diner which has bi-folding doors opening out onto a sunny veranda which in turn leads onto the beautiful garden. The separate dining room has a woodburning stove for cooler evenings and a cosy settee, whilst the well-equipped kitchen has everything you’ll need to rustle up a delicious evening meal. Upstairs there are two bedrooms – a king and a double – and a modern shower room.
The cottage is situated just on the edge of Bishops Nympton which now has a local shop and Post Office, which has a community run village shop. The market town of South Molton with its wide range of shops, restaurants and pubs is just over 3 miles away and the stunning Exmoor National Park is just a short drive. The park has Europe’s very first International Dark Sky Reserve, the tallest tree in England, the highest cliffs in England, almost 250 species of bird and over 1000 different flowering plants and grasses, the highest number of wild Red Deer in England and free living native Exmoor ponies, perfectly adapted to the upland conditions of Exmoor – just to name a few! Further afield, Tiverton is a ten minute drive away. Here you can visit Bickleigh Mill, one of Devon’s largest rural shopping, eating and recreation destination which is housed within an 18th century historic working water mill.
