Primrose Barn conversion sleeps four guests and a dog, a short drive from the village of Umberleigh. Surrounded by stunning countryside, the property has been sympathetically renovated to provide modern living whilst retaining many of its original features. On the ground floor, the cosy living room has leather settees surrounding the television and there is a well-equipped kitchen/diner with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer and washing machine. Upstairs, there are two bedrooms – a double and a twin – and a family bathroom with a shower attachment over the bath. Outside, at the front of the property, there is a paved patio with a table and chairs and parking for two cars. Keen walkers will love the location of Primrose Barn – it sits amongst a myriad of pathways and bridleways. The nearby market town of Barnstaple (six miles away) is the commericial and agricultural centre of North Devon. It is a charming place that comfortably blends a handsome past with an energetic, present-day buzz. It has a mix of cutting-edge retail outlets, long-established family owned stores and little boutiques. The pannier market hosts local food producers interspersed with dozens of cafes. At weekends, Barnstaple makes wandering the streets a distinct pleasure, with performers and musicians out to entertain. If the weather turns nasty, you’re well provided for in the town. Let’s Go is Barnstaple’s newest family entertainment complex. There’s also a lovely 1930s cinema in town which offers four modern screens showing the latest releases as well as live screenings of major theatre productions. The beautiful sandy beaches of Westward Ho! Croyde and Saunton are all within easy reach. Croyde beach is rated as one of the best surfing beaches in the world. There is an RNLI Lifeguard service available every day from May to September, during the Easter weekend, every weekend in October and during the October half term.
