Near to the small hamlet of Sheepwash is this lovely barn conversion which sleeps two people and has the shared use of a tennis court and an indoor swimming pool. Harmony is one of two holiday cottages (the other being Serenity) which is located in quiet countryside, yet is less than half a mile along country lanes to Sheepwash which has a village shop and The Half Moon Inn - a sixteenth century, Grade Two listed historic fishing inn, which dates back to 1540. Harmony has a light and airy open-plan living area with a comfortable settee and tub chair near the television and a modern well-equipped kitchen. Upstairs, the pretty bedroom has fantastic views over the surrounding rolling countryside and an ensuite shower room with a washbasin and toilet. Outside, there is a private, sunny patio next to the cottage and a further large shared decked patio and lawn near to the swimming pool. The pool is open from May to September from 9am to 8pm and is available for guests from both cottages to use. There is also a full-sized outdoor tennis court available to guests from both cottages. The village of Sheepwash is said to have many attributes that typify the charm of a typical Devon village: the cob and thatch cottages, the village square with a friendly inn, and the church with its imposing tower. And in the words of Margaret Waddingham in the first paragraph of her sympathetic monograph on the village: Sheepwash is the epitome of a Devonshire village - a picture-postcard sort of place that even the dullest day can't spoil. It looks quiet and serene as though the centuries haven't touched it; a pleasant little backwater where nothing much has ever happened. But things are rarely what they seem. For such a small village it has a great deal of history.
