Oak Cottage is part of a larger group of top-of-the-range eco-friendly holiday homes known as Ettiford Farm Cottages sitting in a lush green valley on the fringes of Exmoor National Park. The cottages are high quality barn conversions within a traditional farmyard setting in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty just three miles from the dramatic North Devon coast. The farm is 120 acres, with 20 acres of woodland. There is clay pigeon shooting available and a games room for all the cottages with a pool table, table football, darts, books and DVDs. The cottages have eco friendly features and belong to the Green Tourism Award scheme. Oak Cottage is a single storey barn sharing a courtyard with Hazel Cottage. The front door opens into a large living room with dining area and modern kitchen. This eye-catching room has a stunning vaulted ceiling with triple aspect windows looking out to rolling countryside. The kitchen has solid oak worktops and a breakfast bar. The hall leads to a stylish double bedroom and a twin room both served by an attractive bathroom. A short drive takes you to Ilfracombe, which has a delightful mix of Victorian and Regency architecture, pretty harbour, independent shops, restaurants, cafes and pubs. The harbour, with Damien Hirst’s infamous bronze statue Verity, and the Tunnels Beaches, are well worth a visit along with the award-winning Ilfracombe Aquarium, fascinating Ilfracombe Museum, Larkstone Leisure Park, Hele Cornmill and Chambercombe Manor - one of Britain's most haunted houses. Drive inland for Exmoor National Park, which has Europe’s very first International Dark Sky Reserve, the tallest tree in England, the highest cliffs in England, almost 250 species of bird and over 1,000 different flowering plants and grasses, the highest number of wild red deer in England and wild native ponies, perfectly adapted to the upland conditions of Exmoor
