Description

Tossells Cottage is a recently converted, detached barn in a small hamlet surrounded by beautiful North Devon Countryside.  Located on the edge of the Exmoor National Park, this is a great rural retreat ideal for getting away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life or as a relaxing base for exploration and enjoyment of active pursuits. There are great opportunities for walking, riding and fishing as well as visiting the spectacular coastal scenery, small coves, picturesque harbours and expansive sandy beaches of the North Coast of Devon.  The bustling market towns of Barnstaple and South Molton are both within a 15 minute drive whilst the small character pub and restaurant at Goodliegh is just 5 miles.

Great care and attention to detail has been taken to ensure a light and airy space throughout as well as keeping the character of the original barn and some thoughtful features.  The open plan living area has a high apex ceiling with crossbeams, a woodburner surrounded by comfy seating,  and French windows opening out to the rear patio garden. A well equipped kitchen and dining area provides all you will need for preparing meals for family and friends.  Mezzanine floors at each end of this open space are accessed by narrow steep stairs and low sloping ceilings.  They overlook the open plan living space, have feature hand carved balustrade’s made from local timber and offer room for alternative sleeping as well as a quiet spot for reading. Two bedrooms(one with ensuite facilities) and a family bathroom are on the ground floor. There is ample outside space including a rear patio garden as well as a large courtyard and stream bordered sloping rough lawned area great for alfresco dining with seating and barbeque and which offers delightful country views across Exmoor.

Accommodation: Ground floor: Open plan. Living/dining with underfloor heating, woodburner, Smart TV, Bluetooth speaker. Kitchen/diner with electric hob and oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher washing machine and tumble dryer. Two steps down to Bedroom 1 with King and steps up to ensuite shower room with shower, washbasin and WC. Bedroom 2 with Double. Family bathroom with double ended bath, hand held shower attachment, washbasin and WC. First Floor: Mezzanine 1 accessed by steep narrow stairs with single day bed for alternative sleeping.  Mezzanine 2 accessed by steep narrow open tread stairs and low thresholds offering a quiet area to read and with comfortable seating for 2.

Facilities: Bed linen and towels. LPG gas underfloor heating. Complimentary basket of logs provided for woodburner. No smoking, 1 pet welcome, 4G Broadband available for single devise use only. Highchair and stairgate provided. Garden furniture and Barbeques provided.  Care should be taken with young children due to small stream. Private off road parking for 3 cars adjacent. Short breaks available. 3pm arrival time. Arr/Dep for weekly bookings is Friday.
