Set in 3.5 acres with superb rural scenery Priory House is an impressive modern holiday home with luxury and comfort in mind and one that makes the most of its outdoor living space for guests.
Priory House sits only two miles from the principal market town of Barnstaple and just a short drive away from a choice of stunning North Devon beaches famous for their surf and golden sands. Access to J27 of the M5 is less than an hour away. As soon as you enter through the pillared wooden gates onto the private sweeping driveway, you will know you have arrived somewhere really special to relax and unwind. The spacious contemporary accommodation is light and bright throughout, with high quality furnishings, stylishly presented.
The wonderful centre piece of Priory House is the triple aspect large open plan kitchen/dining/living room with separate sets of French doors opening both sides onto two terraces, which enjoy the sun at different times of day and provide access to all the outdoor facilities and features.
The attractive kitchen area boasts a central island with induction hob, sink and sociable breakfast bar. Whether it is coffee and croissants before a trip out onto Exmoor or preparing a small banquet for a special occasion, those wanting to indulge their culinary credentials will love the well-equipped kitchen. This includes a cold/sparking/hot/boiling tap and two dishwashers! A large dining table is located in the middle of the room and soft seating is arranged in front of the smart TV and log burner. The room and also the outside terrace benefit from a Sonos speaker system.
The generous number of welcoming reception rooms are a real bonus. After returning from a fun filled day at the beach you might choose to play a few competitive table football ‘friendlies’ in the games room, or perhaps a sing song round the piano. Join your friends for a chat in front of the log burner on a cooler evening in the main open plan room or perhaps relax in front of the TV in the separate living room.
There are six attractively furnished bedrooms on the first floor. A newly added master suite includes king size bed (zip 'n' link to twin on request), TV, Juliette balcony overlooking the water feature, separate dressing area and ensuite wet room. The second bedroom is large and features a Juliette balcony, walk in wardrobe and ensuite wetroom. There is also a single 2’ 6” z-bed available – suitable for children for alternative sleeping arrangements.
There are two further king rooms, bedroom 6 and also bedroom 3 which also has an ensuite wet room. Bedroom 5 offers twin single sleeping arrangements and bedroom 4 is a king (zip 'n' link to twin on request) with Juliette balcony. A fabulous family bathroom completes the upstairs accommodation.
Outdoor living is very much on the menu with some great features such as an outdoor fire place, pizza oven plus an outdoor kitchen area with Beef Eater gas barbecue, food preparation area and sink. A large slate table with benches sits on one of the terraces and is a great spot for family barbecues. The terrace on one side overlooks paddocks and woodland with wonderful views far into the distance. A shallow man made stream runs down the slope to a small pond which sits by the terrace. A path leads up away from the house towards the main lawn, criss-crossing the stream.
A decked area leads up to a separate building which houses a gym containing cardio machines, weights and yoga mats. The gym has wood flooring, mirrors and sweeping views of the valley. Please note: this facility is shared with guests staying at Priory Cottage.
In the grounds just across the gravelled car park there is the self-contained Priory House Cottage that sleeps two with studio living/sleeping area, its own kitchen/diner and shower room. The cottage also has its own lawned garden area.
