Woolacombe has three miles of golden sands which can be found between Baggy Point and Morte point and is backed by sand dunes with glorious views across to Lundy Island. Woolacombe is popular with locals and visitors alike because of it’s stunning location, cleanliness, water quality and excellent on-site facilities.
There’s a large range of activities available in Woolacombe, on and off the beach. Why not learn to surf with one of the local surf schools or if you’re an adrenaline junkie sign up for some kiteboarding lessons. Away from the beach there is local horse riding stables where the more experienced rider can canter along the beach. Or play a round of golf at the Woolacombe and Mortehoe golf club and take in the incredible sea views whilst you work your way around the 9 hole course.
For walkers you have direct access to the South West coast path where you can walk across to Combe Martin or stretch those legs and walk along the golden sands to Putsborough Sands and reward yourself with a cream tea at the beach café.
Woolacombe itself offers a friendly, lively atmosphere with some great local pubs restaurants and cafes all serving excellent local food.
