KNELLE LODGE APARTMENTS – SAUNTON.
Knelle Lodge Apartments overlook 3 miles of glorious sandy beach and fantastic surf, whilst nestling within an area of outstanding natural beauty. Just a couple of minutes’ downhill walk takes you to the glorious Saunton Beach which is family and pet friendly and popular with water sport enthusiasts. The twice daily tide brings with it incredible surf, ideal for surfers, body boarders and those who simply love jumping the waves. If kite surfing is your thing, then the Atlantic breezes will soon have you riding the white horses with ease.
The largest of 4 apartments, number one is arranged over two floors and has 3 bedrooms. Although the main entrance is at the rear of the property, a glass panelled door leads from the kitchen directly out onto the verandah at the front, taking full advantage of the view across the garden towards the sea. The large kitchen/dining room has plenty of work space and is a great social place to organise activities over breakfast, or chat about the day just spent on the beach or exploring the delights of North Devon. There are good quality appliances and luxury extras including a Lavazza coffee machine and Ruark radio. Triple aspect views can be enjoyed from the kitchen windows which is a light and welcoming room.
This spacious apartment has plenty of room for everyone – and even if friends or relatives wish to stay in the other ground floor apartment - there is ample space to accommodate them at meal times.
The adjoining living room, which can be accessed from the hallway or kitchen, also has wonderful views. A window seat which follows the line of the large bay window enables you sit and enjoy the breath taking scenery unfolding before you. During cooler seasons a delightful wood burner creates a cosy environment. Two of the bedrooms are also on this floor. The master with super king bed has stunning views right across to Hartland Point and includes an en-suite bathroom with shower attachment. The 2nd bedroom also has a super-king which has a zip ‘n’ link option to twins on request. This room has dual aspect views over the garden, sand dunes and sea and has use of a separate ground floor shower room with walk-in shower/WC. The third bedroom is situated on the first floor accessed by sturdy stairs which lead up from the hallway. This room has twin beds. Side sea views can be enjoyed from this room. Each apartment has full central heating and an individual intercom connection to the main entrance.
An adjoining external utility room houses a Belfast sink, fridge/freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer and handy additional walk-in shower. Secure storage at the rear of the building is ideal for wet suits and surf boards with a handy outside shower for rinsing off after a trip to the beach.
Beach hut and deckchair hire is available on a daily basis (in season) and refreshments are available at the entrance to the beach, with a choice of light snacks from the seasonal Saunton Break Café, or the Beachside Grill which serves more substantial meals up until 9pm (check website for winter opening times). Local hotel facilities are also nearby. The championship golf course is close by as are the delights of Braunton Burrows and Crow Point.

Overlooking the impressive three mile expanse of dunes at Braunton Burrows, designated a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and with views across the ocean towards Hartland Point, the apartments are superbly located to take advantage of the beach facilities just a couple of minutes’ walk away!
