Morte View is slap bang in the centre of the attractive village of Mortehoe, which sits on the hilltop overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. It is a spacious two storey apartment with everything on the doorstep including a choice of shops, pubs and tea rooms and is within easy reach of spectacular coast and countryside walks. Mortehoe sits just inland from the rocky headland of Morte Point. The village earned a mention in the Domesday Book and offers a quiet holiday base to venture into the heart of North Devon. The apartment has a private entrance on the bottom floor with a spacious hall providing ample space for shoes and coats along with surfboards or up to four bikes giving you the chance to explore the county's many cycle paths. On the first floor there is a good sized lounge which opens into a dining area. Upstairs there are two attractive bedrooms served by a family bathroom. Both bedrooms look out over the village and have some sloping ceilings.
Mortehoe Heritage Centre recounts the area's rich maritime history. Mortehoe is the starting point for many scenic walks along this dramatic stretch of coastline. Just north of the village, and reached only on foot, is Rockham Beach lying at the base of the 100 foot cliff; an ideal location for a peaceful day on the sand. Another great beach nearby is Barricane Beach just on the outskirts of the village. It’s a sandy cove perfect for families with low ledges that are great for jumping off. There’s also the wonderful, but seasonal, Barricane Beach café, serving up the distinctly un-Devon flavours of Sri Lanka. A brisk walk or short drive takes you to Woolacombe, which has three miles of golden sand. The beach has been voted number one in the UK by TripAdvisor guests for the last two years. It also holds the England For Excellence Gold Award for best family resort

Thank you. We have had a lovely stay. Great accommodation and well resourced. We walked the walks, ate the pasties and enjoyed the Chichester.
Fallen in love with the area - the walks and the friendliness of the village. Apartment has everything you could need. Thank you !!! We will be back we hope.
Had a lovely mini break in Mortehoe - loved our walk yesterday to Morte Point and today to the lighthouse. Spacious accommodation loved the bath after long days out! everything here we needed. Just a shame we were to early in the year to enjoy the fish & chips or shop next door - they open next week!
Cottage suited us perfectly this week, well situated, all amenities etc. Great walks nearby along the coastal path, and easy driving to other places of interest. Thanks David and Susanna and Elsa the labrador.

We had a lovely time, this house is very nice, and was very good that we could bring the dog. The shop below was very hand and had lovely pasties and sausage rolls. We had very interesting walks and loved the beach (Woolacombe Bay especially). Overall our stay was lovely and we enjoyed being here. Love from the Ridgeway family and Bramble the dog.
