Description
FERNMO
Ferndale is a modern, spacious holiday home sleeping six people and two dogs situated in an elevated position overlooking Mortehoe. With lovely countryside views, bi-folding doors opening out onto a level lawn garden and a master en-suite bedroom with its own balcony, this house has everything needed for a perfect holiday in North Devon. The spacious living room is light and airy and has a woodburning stove for cooler evenings, a wooden floor and patio doors opening out into the garden. With additional comfortable seating in the dining area and a small snug off the living room there is ample space for all generations to relax and enjoy time in Ferndale. All three bedrooms are on the first floor, along with a modern family bathroom. Outside, there is a lovely sunny garden which is mainly laid to lawn, parking for three cars on the drive and a useful outdoor shower – perfect for washing away the sand from a day on the beach. The village of Mortehoe has a wide choice of pubs, tearooms and cafes. For walkers, there’s a spectacular circular-ish jaunt from the village that offers some of the very best coastal views and rock formations of any stretch of the South West Coast Path. Head north-east out of Mortehoe to Bull Point, then cut south-west along the coast path, taking in Rockham Beach and Morte Point. Gaze out to sea to Lundy Island, and inland at the extraordinary rock formations that bear more than a striking resemblance to the spiky armour of a stegosaurus. Also in the village, The Chichester Arms offers visitors (and their dogs) a traditional village pub, with hearty home-cooked food and a good range of real ales and ciders on tap.
