Mortehoe is a quiet village perfectly nestled between Woolacombe and Ilfracombe. If you are looking for a quiet relaxing holiday in a prime location on the North Devon coastline, then you are unlikely to find many better places than Mortehoe.
And because of its supreme location, exploring the rest of North Devon is easy, both on foot and in the car. The South West Coast Path like many other locations in the region runs through the village, and from here you can head south or north depending on your preference. Should you decide to head North, Ilfracombe is an hour and half's scenic walk away, or alternatively 10 minutes in the car. Heading south the golden sands of Woolacombe can be reached within 20 minutes on two feet.
From the South West Coast Path you can also stumble upon Morte Point, offering panoramic views of the coastline and the ocean. Bull Point Lighthouse is also a popular spot for visitors to the region, and certainly a fantastic photo opportunity.
In the village there are a couple of pubs that feature highly in our office must visits. The Chichester Arms and Ship Aground, are both very popular and even welcome pets.
Mortehoe also has its own beach, often referred to as Rockham, it is a secluded bay with great rock pools (always popular with the kids). The beach is a combination of sand and rocks, and dogs are permitted all year-round.
