Description

The Stable provides a great holiday base from which to explore all that North Devon has to offer. Set in a complex of four barn conversions completed during 2018 in the attractive village of West Down. The Crown Inn and local community shop are a short stroll from the front door.

One of the area’s top attractions is the three mile stretch of golden sand, with Putsborough Beach at one end and Woolacombe Beach at the other (named the UK's best beach by TripAdvisor travellers), ideal for surfers and beach lovers with its rolling surf. Both beaches are around a 15-20 minute drive away from the village. The nearby harbour town of Ilfracombe with its many individual shops, cafes and restaurants is well worth a visit too. Exmoor National Park is another enjoyable option for you to consider for an adventure and days out.

Up 3 steps from the parking area a short tarmac path leads you to The Stable at the end of the row of adjoined cottages. With oak flooring throughout the ground floor, the entrance porch leads into the attractive and well equipped kitchen/diner, complete with oak table and benches. Whether it is coffee and croissants before a trip out onto Exmoor or to the beach, guests will enjoy this sociable space. The living room has a comforting wood burner and two sofas for relaxing on in front of the TV. There is a small cloakroom under the solid wooden stairs. These lead up to the landing with a stairgate at the top and a large skylight to provide a bright feel. The master bedroom has a King size bed and large built-in wardrobe. Two further bedrooms, a Twin and a Single are off the landing. All beds have solid wooden frames and the rooms are attractively furnished.  Completing the upstairs is a stylish bathroom with skylight, a tiled floor, bath with shower over the bath, heated towel rail, illuminated bathroom mirror cabinet, WC and basin.   

The Stable has a small patio accessed from the kitchen/diner ideal for sitting out and enjoying something cool and refreshing. Overall The Stable offers families or friends a character holiday home with modern conveniences, all in a pretty Devon village setting.
