Threshing is one of three beautifully renovated barn conversions on the Hartland peninsular near to the Cornish border. Surrounded by open countryside including a large meadow which can be used for walking the dogs, having a picnic or simply sitting in the sun, this single storey holiday home has everything you could think of for a couple and their dog. There is secure storage for bikes, surfboards and kayaks, an outdoor water supply and a drying area. Next to the barn is the owner’s own home with chickens, geese, ducks, pigs, cats and dog. And included in the cost of the holiday is the shared use of an owl observatory – which of course can be used during the day for a little wildlife spotting. Inside, the barn has a light open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with a high vaulted ceiling and oak flooring. Eco-friendly underfloor heating provides warmth whatever the weather and the well-equipped kitchen has an electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge (there is a shared utility room with a washing machine, tumble dryer and drying facilities).
The Farmers Arms in Woolsery has recently been renovated and serves delicious home cooked food and a good choice of wine whilst the village of Hartland is a couple of miles away with many craft shops and potteries in addition to cafés and restaurants. There is a long main street, with cottages either side, leading to the town square and the church of St John. Not far away is Hartland Quay, where the Shipwreck Museum is worth visiting. The Quay was commissioned in 1586, following a parliamentary bill sponsored by some of the great names of the time, Sir Francis Drake, Sir Walter Raleigh and Sir John Hawkins. It became a busy port, shipping coal, granite and various farm produce until it began to break up towards the end of the 19th century

Many thanks for a very warm welcome and the welcome treats. The barn is very comfortable and you have thought of everything for a lovely relaxing holiday. Hope to visit again.
Great accommodation in a beautiful setting, more like a home than a holiday let. Fully equipped with everything needed, could stay for weeks. Great hosts, make you feel very welcome and even treats for our dog and cake for us!
We've had a wonderful week exploring Devon & Cornwall and have felt so at home here. The barn has been so lovely to stay in - with everything you could possibly need. Love the attention to detail.
Wonderful hosts, and it was nice to be remembered on our second visit two years later. As usual the barn was spotless and as comfortable as ever.
This was our third visit and we enjoyed it just as much! A lovely welcome from owners and Nutty! We are going home feeling relaxed and ready for work next week! See you next year. Thank you
