Devon Longstraw is situated in the centre of a row of three character cottages in the beautiful village of Croyde. It takes just a couple of minutes to walk to the beach which is well-known for its good surf.

Sleeping four people and a small or medium sized dog, this cottage has a pretty open-plan living and kitchen area with a slate floor, well-equipped modern kitchen, a good-sized dining table and comfortable settees. A stable door leads out from the kitchen to a sunny flagged patio with outside furniture. A shower room and a bedroom are also on the ground floor with zip “n” link twin beds in the bedroom which can be created into a king upon request. Upstairs, there is a huge bedroom with a king-sized bed, a sofa and a television with Playstation2.

Devon Longstraw could not be much closer to the centre of Croyde and its beach path which winds its way down through the dunes to the golden sands and of Croyde Bay. Rated as one of the best surfing beaches in the world, there is an RNLI Lifeguard service available every day from May to September, during the Easter weekend, every weekend in October and during the October half term. If you like rock pooling, head to each end of the beach. And for walkers, there are several footpaths around the village and up to Baggy Point where you’ll be rewarded with an amazing view. This whole area is designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) for its geological features. A longer walk of 20 minutes along the nearby bridleway, takes you to Putsborough Beach which has the benefit of far reaching cliff views and year round dog friendly access. The closest pub to the cottage is the Manor House which serves up some delicious home-cooked meals.

Fantastic stay in an excellent property. We will always use Marsdens when renting a cottage in Croyde as we have always been pleased with all aspects of the service.

Mr Richard S,

I love this property. We have been 4 times now. It's location, tucked away down a pretty path ,but so close to the village and it's dog friendly pubs, is perfect. Gorgeous walks from the doorstep. The land to Putsborough is idyllic, especially in the Spring and early summer. The beach at Putsborough is glorious and dog friendly all year, apart from a small section. Highly recommend it and we will be back for a fifth time.

Mrs Deb S,
