Description

Just a five minute stroll from the sea, Bakery Cottage is a beautiful barn conversion in the centre of Combe Martin. The subtle colours and large windows give the property more of light and airy feeling than you often get in a barn conversion. The roomy lounge and good-sized fully equipped kitchen/diner give you plenty of space to kick back and relax while upstairs, there are three good sized bedrooms with a Double, Twin and Single. The main bedroom enjoys en-suite facilities while the other two rooms share a family bathroom. An attractive enclosed garden has patio furniture and a barbecue for al fresco dining. The nearby sand and shingle beach is great for rock pooling. The South West Coastal Path passes through the village and sweeps up towards Great Hangman Hill; one of the tallest cliffs in England. There are great views from here across to the coast of Wales. The well-known Grade II listed Pack O’ Cards Inn looks over Combe Martin beach and the village also has a general store/post office. Combe Martin is well known for its Wildlife and Dinosaur Park; a 28-acre attraction that has a passion for encouraging respect for the natural world. As well as lions, wolves, sea lions, monkeys, wallabies, exotic birds and more, the park is well known for its life-sized animatronic dinosaurs. Exmoor National Park has Europe’s very first International Dark Sky Reserve, the tallest tree in England, almost 250 species of bird and over 1,000 different flowering plants and grasses, the highest number of wild red deer in England and wild native ponies, perfectly adapted to the upland conditions of Exmoor. Ilfracombe is in the other direction. It has a delightful mix of Victorian and Regency architecture, pretty harbour, independent shops, restaurants, cafes and pubs. The harbour, with Damien Hirst’s infamous bronze statue Verity, and the Tunnels Beaches, is well worth a visit along with the award-winning Ilfracombe Aquarium, fascinating Ilfracombe Museum, Larkstone Leisure Park, Hele Cornmill and Chambercombe Manor - one of Britain's most haunted houses
