Description
This lovely, 16th century cottage for four people is situated in a conservation area in the lively village of Braunton. Renovated to a high standard and retaining many original features such as beamed ceilings, an inglenook fireplace, exposed stone walls and slate floors, Little Brook Cottage is just around the corner from one of the village’s well-known pubs and the parish church. It has a pretty courtyard with whitewashed walls and slate floor tiles which leads onto a shared footpath that runs alongside a bubbling brook towards the pub – and maybe this is how the cottage got its name.
The lounge/diner with its cosy fire, the well-equipped kitchen with its white high-gloss kitchen units and underfloor heating and the family bathroom are all downstairs. Steep stairs lead up to the two bedrooms on the first floor and there is a stairgate at the top of the stairs with second bottom stairgate available upon request.
The centre of Braunton with its wide variety of shops, restaurants, pubs and cafes is just a five minute walk away from Little Brook Cottage. Braunton is also home to the Braunton and District Museum, the Braunton Countryside Centre and the Museum of British Surfing. At the heart of what is said to be England's most biodiverse parish, Braunton Burrows is abundant with richly varied wildlife. First-time visitors to the Burrows are amazed by the scale of the sand dunes that gives them their name. The Tarka Trail - a footpath and cycle trail built along the route of the old railway line – runs through Braunton.
