Description
DRIF
Driftwood is a well-presented Victorian cottage with a private sunny rear courtyard, situated in a quiet side street a short stroll from the centre of Braunton. Sleeping four people, this double-fronted cottage has a separate lounge, dining room and kitchen and an allocated parking space just 100 yards away. The cosy living room, at the front of the house, has high quality leather settees positioned around the feature fireplace with a “real flame” gas fire for cooler evenings. The beautifully decorated dining room has a lovely dining table in the centre – perfect for evening meals in, whilst the good-sized kitchen is extremely well-equipped and overlooks the private rear courtyard. Upstairs, both of the bedrooms have original wooden floors and Victorian feature fireplaces and there is a spacious family bathroom with a separate shower cubicle. Outside, Driftwood benefits from a fully enclosed rear courtyard which catches the sun for most of the day and has outside furniture and a barbecue. There is also a useful, secure outbuilding which has plenty of space for surfboards, bikes, pushchairs and other leisure equipment. Just a couple of minutes from Driftwood’s front door are the many restaurants, cafés, pubs and shops that Braunton has to offer. The Museum of British Surfing is an attraction that is well worth visiting, packed with little surfing treasures past and present (only a small admission fee is required). The South West Coast Path passes through the village and the Tarka Trail (popular with walkers and cyclists) is easily accessible with bike hire available close by. Just a few minutes by car brings you to a championship golf course or stunning surfing beaches of Saunton and Croyde.
