Description

Ash Barn, on the outskirts of Braunton, is a detached, reverse level property designed to take advantage of the outstanding views over the village towards the dunes and sea at Saunton. Sleeping six people in three bedrooms and welcoming two dogs, the cottage has been beautifully modernised by its owners and yet remains in-keeping with its rich heritage. The lounge/diner on the first floor has patio doors leading out onto a spacious balcony with a large table capable of sitting six people. The views from this balcony, over the tops of houses in Braunton village below, really are breathtaking. The lounge also has a woodburner for cooler evenings and a complimentary basket of logs is provided. Also on the first floor is a modern kitchen/diner with triple aspect windows – again enjoying the view over the valley towards the sea – and the family bathroom with separate shower cubicle. On the ground floor are the three bedrooms and a shower room. Bedroom 1 benefits from French doors opening onto the patio which in turn leads to a pebbled courtyard. The integral garage houses a washing machine and tumbler dryer and is also perfect for storing bicycles, surfboards and walking boots. Outside, the cottage has pretty patio and pebbled areas – again with plenty of seating – and is fully enclosed to keep your four-legged friends safe.

Ash Barn is just over half a mile from the centre of Braunton which has a wide variety of restaurants, pubs, cafes and shops. The village is also home to the Braunton and District Museum, the Countryside Centre and the Museum of British Surfing. At the heart of what is said to be England's most biodiverse parish, Braunton Burrows is abundant with richly varied wildlife. First-time visitors to the Burrows are amazed by the scale of the sand dunes that gives them their name. The Tarka Trail - a footpath and cycle trail built along the route of the old railway line – runs through Braunton.

Reviews

Our 8th visit and we loved it just as much as the others. The cottage is as warm, friendly and relaxing as anywhere could possibly be. Thank heavens some things never change! Thank you for the lovely welcoming flowers, wine and biscuits. Our dog loves it here - especially trips to Saunton Sands. Thank you - you have the perfect holiday cottage.

Previous Customer,

Thank you for a lovely staycation away. We had a lovely time unwinding and exploring North Devon. We especially appreciated the fire in the living room. Thanks again

Family P,

We've had a lovely few days. Very comfortable and spotless. Beaches nearby are stunning. Thank you

Mr B T,

We've been very comfortable. We went to Saunton, Croyde, Ilfracombe and Tintagel and it was all beautiful. Thank you

Mr J H,

What a relaxing time we have all had. So well equipped - better equipped kitchen than at home. Beds so comfortable, have not had a bad nights sleep. Thank you for everything! Would definitely book again.

Mrs R M,

Absolutely love this cottage and its wonderful views. We could happily live here, a proper home from home. Thank you so much for the flowers, biscuits and wine, they were a lovely welcome after a long journey and much appreciated. Harvey enjoyed his walk on the fields each morning with fabulous views for miles. So sad we have to leave, thank you for a lovely week.

Mrs K H,

Amazing property - five stars! We love this house!

Mr A C,

This was our first time at Ash Barn but it will not be the last. What a beautiful cottage with stunning views. Braunton and surrounding areas are second to none.

Mr M B,

Another fabulous break at Ash Barn. Probably the best equipped place we have stayed. We'll be back - again!
