Description

Cleeve is a cheerful detached home on the outskirts of Barnstaple giving guests good access to the stunning North Devon coastline and beautiful Exmoor National Park. The first floor of this dormer bungalow has two bedrooms and a shower room with a further bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor. The roomy lounge looks out onto the garden and a fully equipped kitchen leads to a spacious dining room with a piano, and patio doors. A utility area has a washing machine and dryer while there is a dartboard and other games in the attached garage which is also handy for securely storing surfboards and bikes. There is a big lawn, at the rear of the bungalow with garden furniture and a barbecue for outside dining on the decking area. The nearby market town of Barnstaple is the commercial and agricultural centre of North Devon. It is a charming place that comfortably blends a handsome past with an energetic, present-day buzz. It has a mix of cutting-edge retail outlets, long-established family owned stores and little boutiques. The pannier market hosts local food producers interspersed with dozens of cafes. At weekends, Barnstaple makes wandering the streets a distinct pleasure, with performers and musicians out to entertain. If the weather turns nasty, you’re well provided for in the town. Let’s Go is Barnstaple’s newest family entertainment complex. There’s also a lovely 1930s cinema in town which offers four modern screens showing the latest releases as well as live screenings of major theatre productions. A short drive takes you to Exmoor National Park, which has Europe’s very first International Dark Sky Reserve, the tallest tree in England, the highest cliffs in England, almost 250 species of bird and over 1,000 different flowering plants and grasses, the highest number of wild red deer in England and wild native ponies

Reviews

IT WAS MY 2ND STAY IN CLEEVE SO THAT SPEAKS FOR ITSELF. IT IS SPACIOUS AND SOTHE 4 OF US WERE ABLE TO HAVE MY GRANDDAUGHTER ( WHO LIVES IN BARNSTAPLE) AND PARTNER OVER FOR SOME MEALS. I LIKE HAVING BATHS AND THE OTHER 3 LIKE HAVING SHOWERS SO WE WERE ALL PLEASED! WE ALSO ENJOYED SEVERAL VISITS TO ILFRACOMBE.

Dr Norma M,

Great property. No fuss check in and out. Very good location. Would certainly use again if I visit the area

Rezk Nicolas R,

We are a family of five with a dog and we’ve had a wonderful three night stay at Cleeve during October half-term. The property is spacious, clean and well equipped, with a lovely big garden, in an ideal location for dog walks and a great base for exploring beautiful Devon. A real home from home.
