Sitting literally on the waters edge this delightful former fishermans cottage offers panoramic views over the Torridge Estuary towards Instow, Northam Burrows and beyond to Braunton Burrows and the golden sands at Saunton in the far distance.  Situated on one of Appledore's colourful narrow streets this character cottage is in a great location to make the most of the village amenities. Small shops, cafes and characterful inns are scattered through the winding streets and along the quay and are all an easy stroll away. Laid out over 3 floors the ground floor has a country style kitchen at the front of the cottage and an open plan living/dining room at the rear to take full advantage of the most spectacular views. With large floor to ceiling windows this room is light and airy and the French windows will entice you out onto the enclosed patio that extends the living space. This is a great spot for alfresco dining, soaking up the sunsets or watching the boats bobbing on the ever changing tides of the estuary and sea birds feeding on the shore(fishing from the patio may also be possible at seasonal high tides!). Typical of a character cottage of this age the first and second floors are accessed by steep narrow stairs with a handrail on one side. Two cosy bedrooms – a twin at the rear with sea views and a compact double at the front together with a family shower room can be found on the first floor and on the second floor there is a double bedroom with ensuite facilities.  It will be difficult to tear yourself away from this cosy double bedroom with its large picture window offering extensive views over the Taw and Torridge estuaries and out to sea. With a small foot ferry to the beach, sand dunes and water sports centre at Instow you may find that you do not have to travel far to relax and enjoy the delights of these two estuary villages.  However there is plenty of other sights and activities all within a 20 minute drive including the huge expanse of surfing sands at Westward Ho! the famous fishing village of Clovelly along the rugged North Devon Coast, the family activity centres of The Milky Way and the Big sheep as well as RHS Garden Rosemoor and Dartington Crystal.

Fantastic location on the Appledore estuary. Characterful & comfortable to holiday in any time of the year.

Mrs Jill C,

This was a lovely place to spend a week, The location is terrific and the view straight through the house as you first walk in makes the journey worthwhile.

Mrs Susan S,

Really enjoyed our stay at Quebec in Appledore. .location perfect, views of the estuary breathtaking. It was a real home from home.

Mrs Rachel L,

It's a wonderful cosy property with outstanding views as it backs right on to the estuary. Appledore is pretty with great pubs and coffee shops and has a real buzz about it. Quebec is tucked away on a quiet street with a lovely little kitchen, comfy sofas and beds. We all slept very well! This was our second visit and I can't wait to get back there. it's a relatively short trip from Surrey - 3 and half hours in good traffic - so serves as a wonderful bolt hole for a few days. I wish Quebec was mine!

Mrs Anne B,
