Exmoor is home to the UK's largest native mammal... the Red Deer and October is when the rutting season starts.

If you wish to have a close encounter with nature at her most vibrant then we would seriously suggest that you consider a break on Exmoor this autumn. Your close encounter need not only be of the terrestrial kind either, as Exmoor has also been designated with the very rare International Dark Sky Reserve status. This means there is minimal light pollution affecting the area and star-gazing can be a truly wonderful experience.

You will may be able to catch glimpses of the planets, Cassiopeia, Lyra, and Cygnus or even amazing Galaxies such as Andromeda and the Milky Way.
