Close To Clovelly

With Newcroft in Woolsery being recently added to our portfolio, and only a short distance from world renowned Clovelly village, it's a good idea to focus on that area for places to visit or even other cottages to stay in. Newcroft is a pet friendly spacious bungalow on a large corner plot, with an enclosed south facing garden. Extra facilities such as a cosy log burner and a dishwasher, mean all the home comforts are available, to help you relax, after a great day exploring this fascinating area.

We have a further wide selection of cottages to choose from in this area, ranging from traditional cottages and modern bungalows, through  to lake-side lodges with great fishing on site. I am sure if you browse this link to Clovelly and the Hartland Peninsula one of these lovely holiday homes will catch your interest.

Clovelly has a fascinating history and is still a vibrant fishing harbour today. There is a real sense of community and there are events scheduled here and close by throughout the year. During the Easter holidays from Friday 29th March to Sunday 7th April, children of all ages can enter the fudge stone competition. Find a hidden fudge stone somewhere in the village and return it to the Fudge shop and see what prize you have won, with a bumper prize for stone number 20. If you love local ales and ciders then make sure you book to visit over the weekend Sat 25th - Mon 27th May. Local brewers will be showing off their skills with lots of tastings to be had.

A major event is always the all day Maritime Festival, based around Clovelly harbour on Sunday 14th July. The list of events is inspiring with sea-shanties, Celtic bands, samba bands, street performers and lots of lovely goodies to eat.

Finally just to note that Woolsery has a great Agricultural Show at Clovelly Court on Mon 29th July. There are lots of trade stands as well as all the usual competitions for local farmers and horsemen and women.
