Spent a lovely day at the National Trust's Arlington Court on Sunday.
Once the early morning mist had disappeared the sun shone and it was beautiful. We have toured the house (the family home of Sir Francis Chichester), on previous occasions, so this time kept our visit to the gardens and carriage museum. One of our favourite spots on the estate is the bird hide.
Plenty of feathered friends to see, including woodpeckers, blue tits, herons, tree creepers and chaffinches.
After an enjoyable lunch we continued around the lake and onto the carriage museum. We had a thoroughly enjoyable time, despite being only approx 15 minutes from our starting point at Barnstaple.
